Thanksgiving is Jason’s favorite holiday. I’m more of a Christmas gal, myself, but Thanksgiving has grown on me. It makes you pause and count your blessings. I don’t throw that word around lightly, but I was at a place today where social workers counseled people on how to “Heat AND Eat–Don’t Choose”. It made me stop and really appreciate what I have, especially at a time when my family is drastically downsizing, and at times it can feel a bit difficult. I’m not immune to the same feelings as others–items that are useful, or practically new, or were expensive–it can be hard to let it go. But when you finally work over that hurdle; it’s so freeing, and worth it. Remember, even baby steps are steps forward. Give thanks for the blessings you have in your life, and give to those less fortunate.
